Model Service Society (MSS), a non-profit organization licensed by the Community Development Authority (CDA), Government of Dubai, is committed to protecting your privacy. This notice explains what personal data the MSS website (www.mssgulf.org) collects, why, and how we protect it. Membership and volunteering through MSS CareNet (app.mssgulf.org) is covered by the CareNet privacy policy.
1. What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the topic you choose and your message.
- Newsletter: your email address, when you subscribed and when you confirmed your subscription.
- How you found us: when you send a message, the campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source), the website that referred you and the first page you visited.
- Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to block spam and repeated submissions. Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs for security.
2. How we use it
- To answer your message and follow up on your request.
- To send the newsletter you asked for, only after you confirm your email address.
- To understand which campaigns and partner sites bring visitors, so we can spend our volunteers' time well.
- To keep the website secure and prevent abuse.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:
- With MSS office bearers and committee leaders who need it to answer your request.
- With service providers that run the website for us, bound by confidentiality: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database) and Resend (email delivery).
- When required by UAE law, a court order or a government authority, including the Community Development Authority.
4. Cookies and browser storage
The public website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is remembered in your browser on this device only. How you arrived (campaign tags, the referring site and your first page) is kept in your browser for the current tab only, and is sent to us only if you submit the contact form. Videos are embedded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you press play.
5. How long we keep it
- Contact messages: up to 2 years after we last reply, unless the matter requires longer.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Unconfirmed sign-ups are removed after 30 days.
- Records needed for CDA reporting or UAE accounting rules: as long as the law requires.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Messages and subscriber lists are visible only to signed-in MSS administrators, and every change made in the admin area is logged. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Stop sending you the newsletter. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
8. Children
The contact form and newsletter are meant for adults. If a child under 18 has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice. Changes are posted on this page with a new date.
